Because I write articles and create videos

Last week I reported on LinkedIn a conversation I had with someone. The topic was knowledge sharing and received a lot of interest. I therefore decided to delve deeper into the discussion undertaken with my Personal Manifesto on Sharing Knowledge thinking about the first ten words that came to mind when thinking about sharing knowledge.

Before listing those words, I'll report the conversation in case you missed it:

T: <<But why? write articles and make videos, do you earn money? Do you work there?>>
M: <<No, I don't earn money directly. On my site there are no advertising banners for example, but if someone wants to offer me a beer there is the donations section.>>
T: <<And if you don't make money, who will make you do it?! Showcase your skills, someone might learn from you and you lose chances. working.>>
M: <<Do you really believe that with an article or a video you can explain all the knowledge about an analysis technique that takes weeks or months of learning? You're off track.>>
T: <<You're like this. however you open people's eyes and they start studying and you lose your competitive advantage.>>
M: <<But maybe! If every piece of content I produce triggers at least one person to delve deeper, I will have reached 50% of the purpose for which I create content.>>
T: <<I still don't understand why spread knowledge for free.>>
M: <<My intent is spread food for thought, get people to ask questions. If I succeed I will have I also achieved the other 50% of the purpose for which I make content. But the real question is: why is it Does my attitude shock you?>>
T: <<Why? knowledge is an asset, by spreading it you lose your competitive advantage and you will no longer find opportunities working because it is everyone will learn to do what you do.>>
M: <<My daily experience tells me otherwise. In almost 10 years of activity I have never sent my CV once, but I have been asked for it many times. Those contents are my CV, my skills and who I am. really interested in acquiring them for your studio or company calls me thanks to those contents because it is they are the demonstration in the field that I really have those skills, I don't just tell them.>>
